BA/BS in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics/Master of Business Administration

The BA/BS in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics/Master of Business Administration degree program equips students with the knowledge of political theory, economic systems, and philosophical schools in order to engage the complex challenges of the modern business world with a deeper understanding of the factors surrounding them. As the world becomes more connected, a knowledge of politics and economics provides a foundation from which to understand government involvement in the business world. Study of philosophy provides an opportunity to think more deeply about difficult questions of ethics that arise in the context of the 21st century. Accelerated MBA students will acquire the practical knowledge required to operate in the worlds of finance, marketing, management, and other facets of business. Graduates will be prepared to lead successfully in the various sectors of for-profit and non-profit operations.

A 120-credit-hour minimum for a bachelor's degree is required. Students must complete all Undergraduate hours and shared undergraduate/graduate hours prior to enrolling for remaining Graduate hours.

*Elective Requirements

In order to satisfy the “Undergraduate only” portion of an accelerated degree plan, sufficient lower-level and upper-level elective hours must be taken to complete the minimum number of Undergraduate credit hours required for each specific accelerated degree.
As part of this accelerated degree plan, 6 shared Graduate hours will be counted toward a minimum of 42 upper-level Undergraduate credit hours required for all bachelor’s degrees.

MBA FOUNDATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
All graduate business students are required to complete the foundational courses for the appropriate program through undergraduate or graduate coursework. Students who have not completed appropriate undergraduate business courses will be required to take equivalent courses (may be 5000 or 6000-level depending on deficiency) upon acceptance to the program. Students who have completed equivalent business courses may have any (or all) of the requisite courses waived if courses taken meet the waiver criteria: The completed undergraduate course is equivalent to the 5000/6000-level course. The course grade is at least a grade earned of B. The course is taken at a regionally accredited institution. Foundational courses from non-U.S. universities in foreign countries may not be considered for waiver. Foundational courses will not be accepted if completed through correspondence, life and work experience, CLEP, or other standardized testing.
