First half of semester. Level 3 Part 1. Students will learn and practice research skills in order to prepare a formal research paper. Students will also review study skills and will continue to increase their understanding and use of English by practicing such language application skills as prefixes, synonyms, contractions, etc. Additional academic skills will include understanding and applying such concepts as paraphrasing, parenthetical referencing, outlining, notetaking, summarizing, etc.
